Gary Dainton

Principal

Gary started his career at KPMG in London, qualifying as a chartered accountant in 1990 before becoming a founder member of KPMG Corporate Finance, the investment banking side of KPMG’s business, and becoming a Partner of the firm in 2000

At KPMG, he spent 13 years advising both public and private clients of KPMG on all areas of mergers and acquisitions, capital raising and corporate restructuring projects mainly in the UK and Europe, but also in Australia during a 2 year secondment to the firms Sydney office in the mid-90’s. He then had a similar stint in the United States in 2000, as a member of the US firm’s Management Board focusing on deals in the Technology sector

In 2003 Gary left KPMG and returned to Australia with his family. After an 18 month spell working as a consultant to a Sydney based stockbroking firm, he established Odyssey

As well as his executive duties at Odyssey, Gary has held a number of non-executive roles, including an ASX listed company, the Australian subsidiary of a large European listed International Group, and various Private Equity backed growth companies

Gary is a responsible Manager for several AFSL Licence holders including Kinsmen Securities, an Adelaide based property funds management business

Tim Monger

Consultant

Tim has over 30 years of corporate advisory experience. He began his career at KPMG in Sydney, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1983, and spending the following years managing a number of KPMG’s large client accounts and various due diligence assignments for M&A and IPO transactions

In 1987 Tim left KPMG to work in stockbroking, initially in research and then in equity capital markets. He joined National Australia Bank in its Investment Bank division before returning to KPMG in 1993 as a Director in its Corporate Finance division focusing on M&A transactions for the firm’s clients and KPMG owned businesses, as well as several large restructuring projects

Tim left KPMG in 2001 to consult to The International Wine Fund, before becoming a Director at stockbroker Burdett Buckeridge Young (BBY) where he led their IPO, capital raising and M&A activities

In 2004, Tim left BBY to become a founding partner of Odyssey Capital

In addition to his role at Odyssey, Tim holds a number of non-executive roles including ASX listed Tech company iSentric (ASX: ICU)

Dinesh Pillutla

Director

Dinesh joined Odyssey Capital in 2010 to develop the groups expertise in property Corporate Finance

Dinesh has over 20 years’ experience in a wide range of roles across the property and IT sectors. Early in his career, Dinesh was employed by IBM, Wipro Infotech and Ersis Australia in regional and global marketing roles

Over the last ten years, he has built up a considerable track record in the listed and unlisted property sectors in a number of roles at AMP Capital, Aegis, Southern Cross Equities, and PIR. At AMP, Dinesh was a Senior Analyst in the Property Investment Strategy team providing research and advisory services to $15B of Assets Under Management across listed and unlisted property funds

Prior to joining the Odyssey Group, Dinesh was employed at Southern Cross Equities as a Senior Analyst to launch listed property research coverage across select large caps and mid cap A-REITs. Dinesh was also involved in providing IPO and capital raising support to the corporate advisory team

Dinesh is a director of a number of companies including Core Property Research, a business that provides independent research on the property funds sector

Sebastien Guyot

Associate Director

Sebastien has been working in the corporate finance industry for the past 15 years, focusing on M&A advisory and financing solutions to small and medium size businesses

Sebastien’s career started in France as a Relationship Manager at BPI Bank, providing asset based lending and leveraged finance, before working at GE Capital in there working capital finance team as a Business Development Manager

He moved to Australia in 2010 to work in M&A advisory at Odyssey Capital. After spells at Deloitte Corporate Finance, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and most recently time spent establishing his own internet-based business, Sebastien has returned to Odyssey Capital on a part-time project specific basis

Sebastien brings significant M&A and Capital Raising experience to the team, as well as real world commercial knowledge from running his own start-up company

John Davis

Business Development

John is responsible for business development at Odyssey Capital

John began his corporate career in the IT sector working both in Australia and the UK for companies including Hewlett Packard and Sun Microsystems. In particular, John had extensive involvement with sales, project management and contractual implementations of global ERP and infrastructure upgrades

More recently John has founded and developed a number of small businesses which required the creation of proprietary workflow software, and the development and registration of extensive commercial IP

John’s first hand corporate and own business experience makes him an invaluable sounding board for new and existing client of the firm
